The card was in the reader. Then here's what I did as root:
> umount /dev/sdc1
> mke2fs /dev/sdc1
Then, I took the card out and put it back in.
> chmod 777 /media/usbdisk/
Then, as user:
> rsync --archive --backup --force --recursive --update \
> "/home/crhode" "/media/usbdisk" \
> --exclude ".Trash" \
> --exclude "/home/crhode/.mozilla/firefox/Profile0.default/Cache"
There were no errors. Symlinks look good in the destination
directory. Thanks!
