Someone must have realized that disconnect between reality and the
package description, because now it reads:

  Description: display network usage in web browser
   ntop displays a summary of network usage by machines on your
   network in a
   web mode, which allows the display to be browsed with a web
   browser.
   Tag: admin::monitoring, implemented-in::c, interface::text-mode,
   interface::web, role::program, use::monitor,
   works-with::network-traffic
