You probably don't need exim or any other full-blown MTA. A simple
relay-only MTA such as esmtp is enough to send mail via your ISP's SMTP
server, easier to setup and uses less resources.
However, it must be noted that exim can be configured to relay all mail
to another SMTP server, just select the appropriate option when
configuring it. You can reconfigure exim by 'dpkg-reconfigure exim4-config'.
