yes and yes. Intel Core Duo and ffmpeg is multi-threaded..

Multiple CPUs detected; mpeg2enc will use multithreading.

well, it IS a newer duo-core and I DID want to have 2Gb memory.. not to run 
Vista, just so it would be ABLE to:)
