I try and avoid Wikipedia unless necessary. Perhaps that single question could be answered with more diligence on my part, but I hoped that I would get responses from people who have used the machine and had something to add, more useful information than one usually gets from news blurbs. Wikipedia might be useful for that, and might not; it's awfully politicized. This list, though, is great for having people who have opinions and aren't afraid to share them, and it has no editorial board that would affect the content.
Have people been using Debian with/on the Asus EeePC? What issues have come up? Is installing it easy, hard? How is the experience? Would a $400 budget laptop from Acer or somebody be a better choice? (Assume I can't use a Macbook Air, or other high-end ultra portable. For whatever reasons.) Is the SSD on the basic/original model adequate? Any other issues, beside the obvious?
Again, looking for people who have actually used the machine, especially with Debian itself, not Xandros or Ubuntu (Knoppix okay, though). XP is Right Out.
