Try:
/etc/network/interfaces:
/===================
auto lo
iface lo inet loopback
auto eth0
iface eth0 inet dhcp
auto eth1 eth1:0
iface eth1 inet static
address 192.168.0.1
netmask 255.255.255.0
# gateway 192.168.0.100
iface eth1:0 inet static
address 192.168.0.100
netmask 255.255.255.0
\===================
make sure that you 'auto' eth1:0 as well to enable it on boot. I'm not
sure, if the additional netmask line is required or not.
