That's a nice link. The software raid will work perfectly under linux,
but is it going to be visible under windows? Is there a windows software
  for that?

Hey,
  Linux software raid isn't visible under windows, but if you partition your disks you can install windows using its own software raid implementation - 'dynamic disks'. It's that or buy yourself a true hardware raid card, which are not cheap, or you may yet have luck with dmraid, but it doesn't look simple.
  Unless someone else has some ideas?
