Incoming how? Via smtp, or a user pressing <Send/Receive> at his MUA?

The same way a programmer would: read the man pages and search the web.

That's called a Spam folder. Very easy to create from within your MUA.

That's a function of either (a) your lack of knowledge of, or (b)
the lack functionality of your MUA, not your inability as a programmer.
