I have a package called openbsd-inetd installed that
provides inetd.

Can't get a lead on this one.

I have /etc/motd.tail.

Can't get a line on this either.

The Dreamlinux list has been helpful in the past, but
it is small as Dreamlinux is a relatively new dist,
with a small user base. I didn't inquire there about
this because it seemed more of a core issue to me, but
I may be wrong about that of course.
Anything to do with the installer, or anything that
would seem specific to Dreamlinux, such as tools or
configs, I would direct to that list.
I'm sorry if I have posted this here out of ignorance.
"Debian-user" has been very helpful and I appreciate
being able to inquire the experience and depth of this
list, and the Debian distribution. Dreamlinux appears
to be pretty much Debian Etch at heart, at least from
what I have learned from this list. This is my first
Debian based system, having used Mandrake/Mandriva for
several versions prior.

Dreamlinux is a live-cd distribution that you can
install to harddrive, so these could be remnants of
the live-cd.
In that case, I have asked the wrong people. :)
Thanks for the reply.
Best regards.
