Correct. Whatever dependency errors arise (i.e. if aptitude uninstalls
GNOME or something, which it may very well do, I'm not sure) you'll need
to take note of (Perhaps copy/paste into a file?) and fix manually
afterwards.

Sometimes it takes some time to fully fix problems like this, so I'd
save aptitude purge for a last resort unless you're pretty comfortable
with what you're doing.
