unsurmountable problems: destroyed without a warning two brandnew
cdroms. the last point is the immediate reason for asking.
You gave the answer yourself. I don't know about cdrecord vs wodim etc.,
but what Schily writes about debian is plainly not true. He changed the
license to be incompatible with DFSG, so debian didn't have another
choice but to fork.

- From his website:
Key people from Debian are paid for their work on Debian (see here)
and for this reason do no longer represent community interests but
the commercial interests of their investors.
That's plainly not true. Two release managers were paid for one month
each last year (causing controversy). They were paid by money from
debian's project leader and they are no longer paid. I can't see any
indication that they are or ever were following commercial interests of
any kind.
The intention of the payment was for the express purpose of them working
on Debian and being able to avoid distractions like needing to work for
a commercial interest. Most folks work on Debian is measured in single
hours per day, so this was a chance for the 2 folks to spend a whole
week on tasks involving release management.
cheers,
Kev
thank you all for your explanation. for me are payments of this kind, under the circumstances and no habit, no problem at all.

kind regards,
