Every other situation/circumstance/event that has ever arisen that's
made Linux geeks all a-quiver with excitement that this might lead
to Linux On The Desktop has led to squat. Bupkus. Zilch. Nada.

I see no reason for this to change any time in the next 5 (maybe 10,
but that's stretching it) years.

Why? There's too much of an installed base of applications that
don't work *perfectly* with Crossover Office, and the web sites your
kids want to go to that require Shockwave, and the banks that
require ActiveX widgets.

Face it: as much as we 2% who love Linux (and many of us love AMD)
wish it otherwise, 5% of people think the world revolves around
Cupertino, 30% thinks it revolves around Redmond, and the other 63%
just want their favorite app to work.
