You should probably ask the package maintainer directly.  Some
information is available at [1].

Another package that could use an update is bash: Ubuntu has 3.2 since
December 2006[2], while Debian is stuck with 3.1.  Interestingly the
maintainer on Debian and Ubuntu is the same.
