Re: ssh access to etch

Hi Kushal

It is not that I do not like the interface. I can not answer the questions. I key newline and nothing happens.

Can I get it to use the readline interface all the time?

Hi

I am trying to install packages etc to etch using ssh.

In previous versions of debian (woody and sarge) I have been able to
answer question which filled the screen and had <OK> or <Y> 0r <N>.
These questions appeared as a result of apt-get and would involve
configuring packages.

I am using vt100 emulation.

Can anyone help, please?

Sure, someone could. But you forgot to ask a question. So here I'm
going to use my Crystal Ball and answer it anyway.

dpkg-reconfigure <packagename> will let you configure a package after
it's been installed. If you want to change the interface it uses and
the level of detail in its prompts, use dpkg-reconfigure -plow debconf
and configure away. If the curses interface (the one with the text
dialogs with OK buttons, etc.) doesn't work for you or you don't like
it, you can use the readline interface and see if you like that
better.
