Hi folks, tinyproxy is a tiny proxy server. The problem is that

tinyproxy starts successfully.
i took a look at the script /etc/init.d/tinyproxy, but didn't find any
suspected causes. The 'System V' style init scripts seems difficult to
understand..

Any ideas?

The manual page for invoke-rc.d suggests that it's mainly for the use of Debian package maintainers. You are probably a normal user, so "/etc/init.d/tinyproxy start" is the correct method for you.
