guide? i have never used any version of linux os before, i have been
using windows for a long time though. In particular i want to know how
to install and remove programs, and whats the difference between the

RuteBook is a nice resource/book available as a Debian package to install on your computer
apt-get install rutebook

I have it handy bookmarked in Iceweasel/Firefox - file:///usr/share/doc/rutebook/html/index.html

My favourite online resource is http://www.debian-administration.org/

Some other resources:
Debian reference - http://qref.sourceforge.net/Debian/reference/index.en.html Debian GNU/Linux Desktop Survival Guide - http://www.togaware.com/linux/survivor/
