this starts up as the last thing when I boot up. But why? I don't have Gnome, and haven't had it at all on this installation. XFCE has its own which I would like to use (it doesn't seem to do anything anyway) instead as this is what my sys prefs refers to (and i'm trying to keep everything XFCE)
