ntfs-3g was delete from Etch. [1]

Is there any other way ("true way") to work with NTFS (write) in
Debian Etch?

Or now we can't work with NTFS at all? (Of course, i know about
experimental, unstable -- but it's not a "true way", isn't it?)

[1] http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=417622
after a crash of my daughter's machine with a ntfs_hd (windowsXP) i could easily mount this partition (with 'help' from /mnt and /etc/fstab under etch.

The ntfs partition was probably mounted ro though; ntfs-3g provides rw
access to ntfs.
correct (after a chack)
