Stop shooting. Turn around. Walk away.
I do not know of any reason that _stopping_ doing a bad thing is not
in of itself a good thing. The sooner, the better.
Hitting one's self in the head with a hammer, once one realizes that
it is a bad thing, is not continued just because one has already hit
one's self in the head.
Doing a stupid thing, like war, is just a bad habit. The sooner it is
broken, the sooner people just _stop_ and walk away, the better.
Those dead cannot be revived, more dead is just more dead.
