I would like to ask for some information on how to get gaim-sound

ALSA ist configured correctly (alsaconf) and sound works in KDE but
not for gaim.

nothing happens. Volume is turned up.

audiofile. libaudiofile0, libarts1-audiofile and libao2 are installed.
I guess, I am missing some more packages, but I have no idea which

I'm not using kde but sound didn't work for me either. I changed in
gaim preferences:
Method: Command
Sound command: aplay %s
and it works. You might need to disable arts.
