Hehe, yes etch, got enough trouble with ubuntu on the desktops.Well, yes amd64 support seems to be fine at least until the etch cd halts.
I booted with the the following options (it just came here while I was writing the first mail):
linux expert linux aic7xx=no_reset hw-detect/start_pcmcia=false noapic nolapic however it just sits there with the last messages being: Trying to move old root to /initrd ... okay Mounted devfs on /dev Freeing unused kernel memory: 116k freed Setting up filesystem, please wait ...well I am waiting (about 15 minutes now) and nothing happens. I'll try a few other options but in the meantime
