Ouch. That's why I asked a short time ago why MP3 files would play
directly after doing a etch net-install with the bootcheat
"tasks=standard, kde-desktop" and not adding any other software.
I don't think that any of the Debian developers have paid the license
fee, but then again, I selected my local mirror and here in The
Netherlands, there is no law that forbids the use of the codec.
However, I doubt that the mirror usage is the reason since the net
install is the same regardless of location.
I didn't know that Lucent bought Frauenhover though. That is
interesting news.
