Sorry, IIRC there is no way to use fglrx with Composite enabeld since ATI does not support the Composite extension, not even in their latest driver. One side effect of enabling Composite is a non functional DRI. It's a pity, but that's the way it used to be. :-( But I read that ATI developers intend to support it somewhere in the future ...maybe version 9.x of the fglrx driver. But no idea how long this may take. If you insist to use these nice 3d desktop effects with an ATI proprietary driver you should use the Xgl server instead of the usual Xorg server.
