Hi Andrew.
Exim is a mail transport agent. It sends mail. If you want to get mail
via pop/imap/web or whatever, you have to use a program that does that.
For pop you would need a pop server.
I wouldn't want to do your homework for you. Debian's dpkg-reconfigure
takes care of the common configuration tasks. If you need to do
configurations on your own you need to read the full exim4 spec file.
