You need an interpreter to run these games, there are several in Debian,
try "apt-cache search infocom".

I have never needed an installer, so I'm not sure what the purpose of
install-int-fiction is? Simply running "frotz lurking_horror.bin" or
whatever the game file/interpreter is has always worked.
