This is just the new host for marrilat amd64 repo

Yes and yes

Dont know, but it did work with previous versions of mplayer and alsa. 
I think both have been updated fairly recently.  However, I have since 
tried the version from the stable repo above and it works with the 
current alsa so it looks like a bug in the current mplayer.  Does 
reportbug work for unofficial packages?
