My system, a Dell PowerEdge server, has: 00:1f.2 IDE interface: Intel Corporation 82801GB/GR/GH (ICH7 Family) Serial ATA Storage Controller IDE (rev 01) I could NOT get Sarge to work with it, using either a 2.4 or 2.6 kernel. I had to use Etch to get it to work. This was about 6 months ago. I don't think anything has changed since then.
