See <http://rockbox.org/>. Every player supported by Rockbox can play
Ogg Vorbis and many other formats. I have an iriver H120 myself (not
available anymore, I suppose).

I ripped about fifty CDs with abcde. This works quite fast if you use
two drives in parallel. And if you want, abcde can encode to several
formats at once. I encoded to Ogg for my mobile player and to FLAC for
backup purposes.
