It is probably pretty small, I have done this several times without
backups, but if it fails only once it is still one too much. If you have
important data make sure you have a backup. After that just choose the
manual partitioning, resize existing partitions to your desire (maybe
you should defragment first) and create at least a "/" and a "swap"
partition. A separate "/home" partition is also nice (here is where all
your data will go). For recomended sizes search the debian webpage.
