Xen doesn't boot on sarge

I'm trying to set up Xen on a sarge box, using the guide at
http://www.debian-administration.org/articles/423

All went well until I rebooted. When Xen boots, the last line I see is "(XEN)
Xen trace buffers: disabled" and then the box reboots itself. A quick Google
suggested booting with "noreboot sync_console" to make sure that I'm seeing all
of the messages. Well I am -- this doesn't seem to be a problem with the dom0
kernel, it seems to be a Xen issue. But I'm not sure how to diagnose, let
alone fix this.
