RE: installer doesn't detect cdrom
Does this mean that there is no driver for his CD-ROM drive in the linux
kernel he's using? I've never been very clear on how this sort of thing
works in Linux.
Thanks,

Subject: installer doesn't detect cdrom
hello,
Have some new hardware,
Intel DQ965GF motherboard
Core 2 duo E6600
IDE Cdrom
I've tried every installer I can find, and no matter what
the installer won't detect my cdrom.
Perhaps there's one out there I haven't found yet?
I've tried official sarge, etch, AMD64 etch
and a custom i386 sarge with kernel 2.6.15 kernel.
Perhaps a 2.6.17 or 2.6.18 kernel installer?
Is there one available?
Thanks!
Mike
