Yes, but you need to use POSIX ACLs.  I know that ext3 and xfs support
them, but they need to be enabled in the kernel (they are if you are
using a Debian-supplied kernel).  Then you use getfacl/setfacl to get
and set them.  There are also GUI tools to work with ACLs in Debian.
