etch - xorg crashes but i don't have any clue why
i use etch, it is now at least 4 to 5 days that xorg starts and immediately crashes.
i did not do anything special to the system a part from upgrading daily.
when i launch startx the grey screen appears and immediately X crashes, but i do not receive any clue of what has caused
it in Xorg.0.log:
aldo@topolino:~$ tail /var/log/Xorg.0.log

Could not init font path element /usr/share/fonts/X11/TTF/, removing from list!

FreeFontPath: FPE "/usr/share/fonts/X11/misc" refcount is 2, should be 1; fixing.
i've modified xorg.conf in many ways; replacing "nv" with "vesa", replacing HorizSync and VertRefresh with very conservative
Modelines, but i could not solve the problem.
Any suggestion about where i can get better information about the crash?
thanks
aldo
