So am I, but your message helped me find the relevant bug reports. A fix
is coming with the next upgrade of the sysvinit package:

 Resolved bugs -- Normal bugs (73 bugs): 2 reports
  1) #391122 [FIXED sysvinit 2.86.ds1-33]: initscripts: df shows `/dev/.static/dev': Permission denied
  2) #391286 [FIXED sysvinit 2.86.ds1-33]: df: `/dev/.static/dev': Permission denied
