install nvidia for latest debian kernel

Hi all;
could please someone adapt the following (official) procedure for amd64 to
32bit debian etch (the last two lines for manual downloading):

Never EVER use the NVidia installers - they're a quick route to a broken
system.

1) ensure you have non-free enabled in your sources.list

2) install module-assistant

3) run "m-a a-i nvidia"

4) install the "nvidia-glx" package

5) "dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg", and select the "nvidia" driver (this
step won't work if you've edited your xorg.conf by hand before, if so,
make this change by hand)

The above relies on having access to the nvidia packages, which are in
stable & unstable (but not testing). For testing, just grab the packages
manually from unstable:
http://ftp.uk.debian.org/debian/pool/non-free/n/nvidia-graphics-drivers/nvidia-glx_1.0.8774-1_amd64.deb
and
http://ftp.uk.debian.org/debian/pool/non-free/n/nvidia-graphics-drivers/nvidia-kernel-source_1.0.8774-1_amd64.deb
__________
thank you
