actually I am using the nvidia binary driver (already last release)...
so the problem shouldn't be there should it?
here's an example of the problem
http://rap.dsi.unifi.it/~bettini/terminal.png
the blank part actually should contain text that disappeared after
scrolling and comes up again when scrolling back...
is it the same behavior?
Lorenzo,
No, your problem looks different. It might be worth trying a
different driver though, just to see if it makes a difference.
actually if I try to use vesa or nv I get the error:
(EE) module ABI major version (0) doesn't match the server's version (1)
(EE) Failed to load module "v4l" (module requirement mismatch, 0)
(EE) module ABI major version (0) doesn't match the server's version (1)
(EE) Failed to load module "vesa" (module requirement mismatch, 0)
(EE) No drivers available.
Fatal server error:
no screens found
XIO: fatal IO error 104 (Connection reset by peer) on X server ":0.0"
after 0 requests (0 known processed) with 0 events remaining.
Another setting that had an effect was turning anti-alias on for
all fonts and sizes (in ~/.fonts.conf). Maybe worth toggling your
setting as an experiment.
I'll try this too!
thanks
Lore
