I just got it because it had an easy install and installed decent video
drivers. For older machines Debian's fine but for my game machine I just
don't want the hassle of configuring every little thing by hand. It's the one
machine I want to just run as I use it to relax. :)

Not sure. Ubuntu's repositories are one of the reasons I don't like it.
If Mepis went that way I'd be a sad panda.
