Yes, its possible. I've been doing it quite recently. You probably
need to run as root. The executable is found in whatever directory the
run-parts command points to. My experience is only with contents of
/etc/cron.daily, but I think it should be OK for all the rest. I run
just the particular one I want to freshen, e.g. #/etc/cron.daily/dwww
