Non Sarge libraries.

OK, so it is the same file. Thanks.

Thank you for taking the time to post this. I think it means that the
OP
must have some non-Sarge libaries installed which try to link to
libcairo2 (and the same happens on my Sid system with the gimp binary
from Sarge, so obviously I don't really know how ldd works).
The reported bug (#379524) has been closed again.

How would you find and purge"non-Sarge libraries"? The only thing I recall toying with was gimp-shop which I tried to compile on my machine a while ago. It wanted a few files whose versions were beyond Sarge. Messed up more than it was worth and never would compile. Here is the list of stuff I tried to get to get gimp-shop going:

gtk+-2.8.19
atk-1.9.0
pango-1.11.6
tif-3.8.2
libart-lgpl-2.3.11
glib-2.9.6
cairo-0.9.2 which wanted freetype-2.2.1 and fontconfig-2.2.90

I realized as I was in the process of compile/installing these different packages that it was breaking other things so I gave up somewhere down that list. I spent a week putting things back together as best as I could. Everything seemed OK until gimp showed up.
