I have Transend usb pen drive. It was working OK. I gave to my nephew for backup. He used in some other PC. Now it is not working. Now when I insert nothing happens. I mean no message in syslog.
But in the same machine with other USB stick I get as

Have you tried your usb stick in another PC? My friend has the same experience, but he got worse. His usb stick got an electric shock when he used it in other PC. It's totally damaged now. It seems the memory chip was burnt. It's better you try it in other computer first, if the same thing happen try to check the memory chip.

This could happen if you plug the usb stick improperly.
