RE: Debian over SATA.

Yesterday I installed Sarge on an SATA RAID array using a 3ware RAID
controller. The installer found the drives with no problems and all drivers
were there "out of the box". I was very surprised.

Subject: Debian over SATA.

Dear friends of Debian community,

My landing to this distribution has been, how to call it...an emergency
landing!

I address to you looking for your support and experience as I am immerse
in the final step of an applicants selection to a job which I consider vital

to my career.

I am due to send a report in which I have to develop the alternatives
solutions in order to install Debien 3.1 ?Sarge? over a HD SATA 2 of 80Gb.
Maxtor, Chipset 1945, motherboard of Foxconn. The deadline is next Thursday
29th June.

The matter is that, as far as I can see, the distribution mentioned above

does not have any support for HD's Serial ATA. I have been asked to find
other alternatives in order to install Debian in this disc. An option, I
thought, could be to use floppys as a system of boot, looking for packages
in the dvd of Debian.

I would appreciate any clues, ideas or references you could add to help
me in this research.

Many thanks in advance for your help and support in this matter.

Looking forward to hearing from you.
   Kind Regards,

                          Mambo.
