I am running Debian 2.6.16 kernel (unstable) and this does include the
ppp_mppe module.

To check if your kernel has this module do:

/sbin/modprobe -l | grep mppe

This should return "ppp_mppe.ko". If it does, then just do (as root:)

/sbin/modprobe ppp_mppe
