How does one know which "sub-minor" release
$ apt-cache search linux-image-2.6.16 | cut -d\ -f1
[snip]
linux-image-2.6.16-2-486
linux-image-2.6.16-2-686
linux-image-2.6.16-2-686-smp
linux-image-2.6.16-2-k7
linux-image-2.6.16-2-k7-smp
linux-image-2.6.16-2-vserver-686
linux-image-2.6.16-2-vserver-k7
linux-image-2.6.16-2-xen-686
linux-image-2.6.16-2-xen-k7
linux-image-2.6.16-2-xen-vserver-686
$ apt-cache policy linux-image-2.6.16-2-686
linux-image-2.6.16-2-686:
Installed: (none)
Candidate: 2.6.16-14
Version table:
2.6.16-14 0
500 ftp://mirrors.kernel.org unstable/main Packages
Does this mean that it is kernel version 2.6.16.14?

Is "common sense" really valid?
For example, it is "common sense" to white-power racists that
whites are superior to blacks, and that those with brown skins
are mud people.
However, that "common sense" is obviously wrong.
