The version of libgphoto2-2 that appeared in unstable today is supposed to
have a fix to support the A530, I have just submitted a bug to add in the 
USB ID of the A540.  The A540 is also a PTP camera as far as I can tell.
At least gphoto2 recognises it as a Generic PTP camera.
