hello list,

i installed a 'non-free' driver from the nvidia website in kernel 2.6.8-2-386.
[sh /home/steef/NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-8756-pkg1.run]

dmesg gives me the following unwholesome message:

steef@debian:~$ dmesg | grep nv
nvidia: module license 'NVIDIA' taints kernel.

what evil, if any, can come out of this installation?

regards,

steef

Nothing at all. That message appears only (I believe) because the module
is proprietary.
