It does. Also, Ctrl-Alt-L locks my KDE session. Looking more closely, this is set as a proper shortcut from within KDE, so that may be why it works. It may be that your keymapping is > just ever so slightly off. Well, in other contexts they all work as expected individually, if that's what you mean... I can use Alt-1, Alt-2 etc. in screen; I can use various Fx keys that I've configured for use in Vim; and I can use Ctrl in a similar way. Anything else I can check for?
