I've installed wu-ftpd on the workstation rather than on the mailserver (I should have thought earlier of that!), and it was easy and worked flawless except that the ftp client doesn't display the size of the file correctly:


538385455 bytes sent in 383.30 secs (1371.7 kB/s)


That looks like an overflow when transfering more than 4 GB, but the target file has the correct size. The actual 33.4 MB/sec may represent the disk-writing-speed of the workstation rather than a network limit :) I would have expected better performance from an SATA disk, though ... Hmm ...
