Where is the right place to put stuff that you want to run when starting XDM now. I used to have this in /etc/X11/xdm/Xsetup: #!/bin/sh xsetroot -solid dimgrey but it's not working anymore with xdm-6.9.0.dfsg.1-4
I use gdm rather than xdm, but I was googling around a few weeks ago about start-up stuff and I came away with the understanding that you can always use ~/.xsession. IIRC, there was some helpful and not-too-dated documentation at the Linux Documentation Project.
Anyway, ~/.xsession is where I put my X start-up apps and settings. -- Michael
