There was a rather good 'Grub in Debian HOWTO' by Dan McCombs but the
link doesn't seem to work any more.  However there are a few HOWTOs
around.

After you've installed grub (which will automatically remove LILO) run:

grub-install /dev/hd* being the disk on which you want grub to boot from
-normally /dev/hda

then:

update grub

It should find your OSs and kernels and away you go.

You then have the additional advantage of being able to boot your system
from a grub floppy or rescue (such as DFS) is the MBR gets screwed.
