Issues with a new etch install: pmud, alsa etc.

Cross posting to debian-user and debian-powerpc since this is probably
relevant to both..

I just installed Debian GNU/Linux powerpc on my iBook G4 1GHz, mostly
it went fine, but there are are a few things that don't work and some
casual searching hasn't turned up any answers to.

First of all I've been unable to get pbbuttonsd working, I installed
the package for it but when I try to start it I get:

Rancorwe:/home/avar# /etc/init.d/pbbuttonsd start
Starting pbbuttonsd:ERROR: The file '/dev/pmu' doesn't exist.
failed!

I'm running the 2.6.8-powerpc kernel if that helps (sarge)

Another issue I've been having is that alsamixer doesn't work:

# alsamixer
alsamixer: function snd_ctl_open failed for default: No such device

and lspci doesn't turn up my sound card:

$ lspci

However playing audio both in XMMS and alsaplayer works perfectly,
aside from me not being able to set the volume correcltly due to the
above issues with alsamixer.

This is what I get from alsaplayer when I try to play a random Ogg Vorbis file:
ALSA lib confmisc.c:672:(snd_func_card_driver) cannot find card '0'

However playing the file works, as mentioned above.

Everything else works just fine, great distribution!
